TRACY LAWRENCE - GREATEST HITS : EVOLUTION

Tracy selected twelve of his past hits and recorded updated versions with his current live band to represent how he sees these songs now. In his own words: “I'm so excited to finally get the chance to make this record. Ive been blessed to have success with all of these wonderful songs over the years. From ‘Sticks and Stones’ to 'Paint me a Birmingham,' they all have had a special place in my heart. But like ‘Time Marches On' says, Everything changes! These songs have evolved and changed. Some very subtle and others a little more extreme. As musicians have come and gone in the band, they've all brought their own personal style and influence to these songs, sometimes lingering long after a player has gone. I wanted this project to reflect that change and Evolution.”

WILLIE NELSON AND SISTER BOBBIE - DECEMBER DAY: WILLIE'S STASH - VOL. 1

Willie Nelson sounding like he might in an old-school jazz club is what you’ll hear if you listen to how far this album is from his “Outlaw Willie” image. The first release in a new archival series, “December Day” teams Nelson with his sister and bandmate, pianist Bobbie Nelson, for a ballad-heavy set featuring new versions of Nelson staples and a trip through the Great American Songbook. Bobbie tends to stay in the background and is most animated on standards like Irving Berlin’s “Alexander’s Ragtime Band” and Al Jolson’s “The Anniversary Song.” Willie lays on the charm in re-workings of his own “Permanently Lonely” and “Sad Songs and Waltzes.” and Nelson’s acoustic guitar provides some life on Django Reinhardt’s “Nuages.” This appears to be a special album for Willie; whether it will be so for his fans is yet to know.
