Carrie Underwood has created a new foundation to "help with general causes, needs and services" in her hometown of Checotah, Oklahoma. The C.A.T.S. Foundation, which stands for the Checotah Animal, Town and School Foundation, will be funded by private resources, the singer announced through her publicist on Wednesday."My hometown is extremely supportive of me, and I feel blessed to be able to create something as a way of giving back; to say thank you,” Underwood said in the news release. Underwood performed for soldiers and their families at a Fort Campbell "Salute to the Troops" event along with Hank Williams Jr. last weekend. She will also be among the 2009 inductees for the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame next month. |
