'All for the Hall' Show Benefiting More Than the Hall PDF Print E-mail
Keith UrbanKeith Urban's Country Music Hall of Fame benefit show, "We're All for the Hall," sold out in just 20 minutes.  Unfortunately, a chunk of those tickets went to scalpers looking to charge well over the economical $25 price.  With ticket scalping legal in the state of Tennessee, neither Urban nor the Hall has much recourse.

"We're thrilled with the support we've received from the fans and the artistic community for the 'We're All for the Hall' benefit. We priced tickets at $25 to make the show as accessible to everyone as possible," Urban said.  "The issue of ticket scalping cuts across all forms of entertainment and sports and is much bigger than this concert. It's unfortunate that others are choosing to make money from our efforts, but we must remain focused on our stated mission and cannot involve ourselves in a ticket scalping debate or take time or attention away from our message."

Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum Director Kyle Young weighed in on the matter with "The Tennessean."

"As Keith explained on Monday when he announced this show, he understands how bad the economy is, and really wanted these tickets to be affordable for fans. So the fact that tickets may be scalped is disappointing. Unfortunately, it's an all-too-common occurrence and is something that we can't control."

The concert is slated for October 13 at Nashville's Sommet Center and boasts a lineup featuring heavyweights like Urban, Faith Hill, Vince Gill, Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean and Lady Antebellum.
