Listener Request - August 20, 2011

Dear Bob,
My name is Beth, I am a stay-at-home mom with 3 children and I run a home daycare center which allows me to be here with my kids.  I’m used to being around people.  I come from a large family and have learned that family is everything.

The song I’m requesting reminds me of my parents, Jack and Pat, almost exactly.  They were high school sweethearts that got married right out of high school.  Dad was a career firefighter and did a million other jobs in his off time, to provide extra for all of us.  Our parents taught us to work hard, be thankful for what you have, and love like crazy.  Dad retired from the fire department after 29 years and made the most of his time, doing things he loved like wood working, golfing and being with family.

We lost my dad in august of 2009. He was loved by every one he knew.  He was my best friend, a wonderful teacher, a hard worker and a great dad.  Can you please play “Love Like Crazy”.  I still miss him and love him like crazy.

Thank you,

rascalflatts-iwontletgoHello Bob,
After being married to the same woman for 27 years, and then being divorced for 3 more years, I had all but given up hope of ever finding anyone again. And that’s just the way it was until about 8 months ago.  I ran into an old acquaintance, Mary Jane, who I’d worked with 30 years ago.  We agreed to meet for dinner, for old times sake, and before you knew it, we’d fallen deeply in love with each other.

This was all fairly new when, this past December, Mary Jane found out she had breast cancer.  But, I assured her she is not alone.  We are in this fight together.  I am determined to help her conquer this.  I know she needs all the love, prayers and support that I can give her.  I would just like to say to Mary Jane, when you have done all you can do and you can’t cope...  I won’t let go!
