When Valentine’s Day rolled around this year, I could actually look forward to it. After quite a search, I finally found the man of my dreams, and those dreams came complete with a whirlwind romance. You see, after about a month of him asking me to be his girlfriend, I said yes. Three weeks into our relationship, he pulled a ring out of his pocket and asked me to marry him and again, I said yes!
We have already started planning the big day, and the one thing we have positively picked out is the song because we both agree that the reason we fell in love so quickly is in the lyrics. Blake Shelton sings: “On my own I’m only half of what I could be... I can’t do without you”.
Bob, I could not ask for a better man to have in my life and I wish everyone else the same happiness. Please play “God Gave Me You”.
For my 30th birthday, my sister-in-law got tickets for the two of us to see Carrie Underwood in concert. Well, not long before the concert, my daughter Payton became sick and was hospitalized. She was diagnosed with Leukemia. Of course, I was totally shaken by the news. And for 3 weeks, I never left her side.
When the night of the concert came, I was certainly not going -- my daughter was in a hospital bed fighting for her life. But after much convincing from my family and all the nurses, we walked the 3 city blocks over to the concert.
When the music for “Jesus Take The Wheel” began, it was like nothing I’d ever felt. And when carrie underwood began to sing the words, I began to cry. It made me realize that my daughter’s life was in God’s hands.
Thankfully, Payton responded very well to treatment and is now a happy, healthy, loving, full of life five year old. This little girl has no idea what an inspiration she is to me, and so many others. I’d like to dedicate this song to her.
