Kenny Chesney’s “Reality” is so suited to this chapter in my life right now. I am a country music loving stay-at-home caregiver for my dad, who has Dementia. I listen to radio, cd’s or music videos all day, and sometimes I even talk to walls because there is no conversation in this house.
Now, I love to read books but that makes me sleepy and I rarely have time to just sit and read, so, I tap on the computer keyboard on trips back and forth to the kitchen.
You can imagine I do a lot of fantasizing about being anywhere there’s human interaction and fun to be had. And thank God for music and the radio! So, my special request is Kenny’s song.
I’ve been a long-time listener and currently catch CT40 on our country station in nearby Myrtle Beach. I’m retired at 54 and loving life!
I would like to request Blake Shelton’s song, “God Gave Me You” and dedicate it to my husband, Larry. This month, we will celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary and as the song goes, “On my own, I’m only half of what I could be. I can’t do without you, we are stitched together and what love has tethered, I pray we never undo.”
Larry and I have had our share of ups and downs, but we’ve worked through it all. We have two wonderful grown daughters and at this point in our lives, we are truly blessed to be spending our days together and having a great time.
