It’s only been a year since Hunter Hayes first appeared on our countdown, but this 21-year-old Louisiana native has been entertaining audiences with his musical abilities since his early childhood. With that much experience and undeniable talent, it is no surprise that his second single, “Wanted,” went all the way to the top.
His follow-up to that #1 is his new tune called, “Somebody’s Heartbreak,” which at first glance resembles a story of a boy longing for a girl, but in this case, he doesn’t mind if his heart gets broken. He says, “A minute with you, is better than two without... if you’re gonna be somebody’s heartbreak, be mine.” There is no Prince Charming or white knight... only a boy who is willing to give his heart to a girl regardless of the odds.
Hunter co-wrote this song with Andrew Dorff and Luke Laird, and it’s a sure bet that he’s hoping to land himself another #1. Can he do it? Tune in to Bob Kingsley’s Country Top 40 to find out!
